We work with restaurants, retailers, service businesses, and local organizations to promote shopping local and strengthen the Toledo business community. Position Overview We are looking for a creative and motivated Social Media & Community Marketing Intern to help grow Toledo Retail’s online presence and support local business engagement. This role is ideal for someone interested in marketing, content creation, social media management, local business promotion, photography, or digital media. Responsibilities Create and schedule Facebook and Instagram posts Help promote local businesses and events Write captions, short articles, and promotional content Assist with business outreach and onboarding Monitor engagement and respond to messages/comments Help create short-form photo and video content Research local events, businesses, and trends Assist with website content updates and directory listings Help brainstorm marketing campaigns and promotions Preferred Skills Familiar with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Canva Strong written communication skills Comfortable working independently Interest in local business, marketing, or media Basic photography or graphic design experience is a plus Experience with video editing or AI tools is a bonus What You’ll Gain Real-world marketing and business experience Portfolio-building opportunities Exposure to SEO, social media marketing, and local advertising Flexible schedule Opportunity to grow into larger responsibilities Schedule Flexible part-time hours.
